John Baldwin

John Baldwin

Pastor

John Baldwin is our Senior Pastor.  He is a native of Central Virginia, having grown up in Farmville.  He attended Hampden-Sydney College where he graduated with a BA in History and Religion in 2001.  He currently holds a Master’s of Divinity, a Master’s of Arts in Religion, and a Master’s of Religious Education from Liberty University, and is working on his Master’s of Theology with an emphasis on Church History and a Doctorate of Ministry with an emphasis on Church Planting and Evangelism.

Preschool Director

Tammy graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and a graduate degree in Elementary Education. She has taught kindergarten, as well as preschool. She has also been the director at another daycare in the area.

She and her husband have been married over 30 years and have 3 grown children. She has been a member of Berea Baptist Church and the Rockville/Montpelier community her entire life. She believes learning is best when it is interesting, fun and includes lots of movement and play.

Kindergarten Teacher

Christy graduated from VCU. A mother of four, a wife to a wonderful Christian man, and a daughter of The King.  Christy has taught kindergarten within Christian schools for 20+ years. “Teaching is not only my calling, but my passion!  I am very excited to be a part of Faith Community Academy, and am looking forward to all that The Lord is going to do here. “

Theresa Campbell

4 yr old teacher

Theresa graduated from Beta Technological School and earned her certification as a Medical Assistant in 1996. She worked in pediatrics for nearly two years. Later, she went onto receive a degree from Liberty University with an undergraduate in Business Administration and a graduate degree in Elementary Education. In addition, she worked as a volunteer for special programs, such as Reading First. The efforts through this program worked to increase literacy skills for Virginia public schools. She also has experience in early childhood learning as an instructional assistant, has devoted her time as a Sunday School teacher and has dedicated fifteen years as a school volunteer for her four children. Theresa has a passion for Christ-centered learning which she believes is a greater part of educating the whole child.

I have been married to a wonderful man for 33 years and have 3 beautiful children. I am very excited to be part of the Faith Community Academy family, and can’t wait to see how the light will shine in each child’s face. I believe the experiences and lessons children learn at this stage will last a lifetime, and hope to place a seed of faith, hope, and love in each child.

Annie McGinnis was born and raised in Bumpass, VA. She attended Roanoke Bible College (now Mid-Atlantic Christian University) where she received an Associate’s degree in Applied Science with a focus on Deaf Studies and an Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible with a focus on Worship Ministry. She is a proud wife of a paramedic and a mother of four. Annie has been working with children for 12 years, 8 years of which were in a preschool setting. She loves to share her love of music & sign language in her teaching. She is so excited to be working with children at Faith Community Academy.

Karen is a lifelong resident of Hanover County and has been married to her husband for 34 years and has 2 adult children. She recently retired from her career of 36 years as a radiation therapist and is now thoroughly enjoying working with the children at FCA.

Karen graduated from California State University Chico with a BS in Home Economics/ Clothing and Textiles. She worked with Campus Crusade for Christ five years in Salt Lake City Utah. Many years Karen homeschooled her 3 children who are now in their 30’s.  For twelve years Karen was the Area Class Coordinator with Christian Youth Theater (CYT)/ now Character Works.  Later she worked at a local child development center as an administrative assistant and often had opportunities to assist in various classrooms with preschool children. Karen and her husband, John, love serving with the Berea Baptist family.  Providing hands-on experiences for young people to learn makes teaching, and watching the light turn on as they grasp a concept, is very rewarding.

4 Year Old Teacher

Lindsay is happy to join the FCA team this year as a 4 year old teacher! She attended Longwood University and received her undergraduate degree in elementary education and her masters in special education. She taught 4th grade for 7 years in Henrico County and loved it, but is very excited for a new adventure. She is passionate about creating a safe learning environment and forming relationships with her students. Lindsay and her husband have two little children, Natalie who is 3 and attends FCA and Calvin who is 1 and plans to attend in 2024. We are looking forward to a great school year!

My hope as a teacher is to nurture children’s faith, spark their curiosity to learn, and empower them to do their best in all they do. I value creating a loving, safe, and supportive environment that supports learning through play, movement, and hands-on experiences. 

I am blessed to be married and have 1 son. My Faith and Family are my number one priorities. I love all things crafty, reading, gardening, and bird watching.
